The Bracy Family

Dan and Kristen Bracy

Dan and Kristen are serving at a remote mission hospital in Kapsowar, Kenya through World Medical Mission. Dan works as the director of IT for the hospital. He is currently implementing and integrating an electronic medical record system which will help transform the functionality and efficiency of mission hospitals. Kristen is an OBGYN and currently is the director of the maternity department. She has a passion for women's health and ministering to this marginalized people group through medicine.

The Brown Family

Matt, Tina, Evan and Olivia

Matt serves with e3 Partners Ministries, leading short-term trips to preach the gospel, plant churches and make disciples in Africa. He is partnered with a Tanzanian national to coordinate and lead short-term trips to East Africa. Matt and Tina were encouraged into their ministry while attending GVC, before they moved to their current residence in South Carolina.

The Carroll Family

Jacob, Rachel, Jack, Mali Mae and Beau

Jacob founded Tend the Fire Ministries, which encompasses the IRNMN Christian Men’s Ministry. IRNMN is designed to facilitate the development of strong men who are committed to accepting and pursuing their role as the spiritual leaders of their families first, then to their churches and communities. Through the ministry, they promote and facilitate a simple, but effective, small-group structure that resonates with Kingdom-minded men. Jacob and Rachel, with their three kids, love being a part of this community, calling GVC their church home.

The Cedillo Family

Hector, Karen, Isaiah, and Kari Cedillo

Hector Cedillo pastors Camino Real Bilingual Church in Oceanside, California. He resides there with his wife Karen and their children Kari and Isaiah. Hector oversees the work of two other Hispanic churches in Southern California and one in Mexico. The Escondido Hispanic Church is usually the recipient of the food collected in the GVC Food Bank. Pastor Cedillo is occasionally a guest preacher at Green Valley Church. God is blessing his congregation with new believers on a consistent basis.

Dadougou Coulibaly

Dadougou has a passion and a vision to reach his people for Christ. Together with the support of two committees (United States and Africa), Dadougou is preparing an evangelical ministry in his country, Mali, West Africa. He lived in San Diego during the summer of 2006 and attended Green Valley Church. Dadougou is committed to evangelizing and church planting as his country is 3% Christian. His ministry attends to the physical and spiritual need of the impoverished community he lives in.

Partners in Evangelism International (PIEI) is a mission agency that teams up with nationals who, like Dadougou, want to be missionaries in their countries but are not able to raise support. These nationals are paired with a team of people from the United States who help raise financial and prayer support.

The Duran Family

Anthony and Catherine Duran

Anthony & Catherine Duran serve on staff with Keystone Project, an international, organic discipleship training ministry. Their ministry focus is to coach and train International Pastors & ministry leaders in the concepts and principles of organic discipleship. Keystone Project's ministry center is located in Keystone, South Dakota where they conduct two 4-week intense trainings each year hosting scores of international leaders.

After each training the Duran's follow-up by visiting the home countries of attendees, providing further trainings and coaching them through the fundamentals as they build their community network of disciples. As trainings in Africa and Asia grow, the Ministry is directing strategic efforts to the unreached people groups.

The Everitt Family

Dave, Lisa, Malachi and Mary Everitt

The Everitt family serve the people of Cambodia through Ethne, a division of Church Resource Ministries (CRM). The Everitts are equipped to effectively build upon the foundations that God has shaken and re-created in Cambodia, positioning them alongside both the recognized and unacknowledged leaders of Cambodia. Lisa envisions reaching out and building relationships with God’s cross-cultural servants, helping them find their next steps in God’s plan, refining their vision and translating it into action. Dave labors to see those God calls among ethnic minority peoples in Cambodia to live as multiplying disciples in freedom and obedience to Christ.

The Fernandez Family

Dylan and Annie Fernandez

Being inspired by a mission trip in South Asia, Dylan felt the Lord grip his heart to pursue ministry full time with Cru, at San Jose State. Dylan and Annie recently married and they desire to go overseas longer term (back to South Asia). Dylan grew up attending GVC, as part of our youth family.

The Horn Family

Geoff, Holly, Jackson, Will, Samuel and Asher Horn

Geoff serves as the Chaplain to the San Diego Padres, through the Baseball Chapel organization. Baseball Chapel is an international ministry recognized by Major and Minor League Baseball and is responsible for the appointment and oversight of all team chapel leaders. They hope to bring encouragement to people in the world of professional baseball through the Gospel so that some become discipled followers of Jesus Christ and to see deeply committed players use their platform to influence people around the world to become followers of Jesus Christ. Geoff, Holly and their four boys love being a part of this community, calling GVC their church home.

The Kennemer Family

Rex and Connie Kennemer

Rex and Connie live, work and minister in the “new neighborhood” that Todd’s death by suicide thrust them into. They labor among both mental healthcare professionals and consumers in the dark world of mental illness, anxious to share the hope that Jesus offers. They sense God’s favor and are convinced that this is the Father’s Kingdom work, reflecting His heart. Connie still leads CRM’s Intercession Team, encouraging and promoting the power of prayer among CRM family and beyond.

Andrew and Sarah

Andrew and Sarah are part of a six family team working towards moving to Lebanon, committed to living their lives together under a common calling: to see Arab Muslims come to know Jesus, worship the Lord, gather in their homes to study the scriptures, and lead other Muslims to Christ. They went to Jordan in January of 2009 where they learned a lot about Arab culture and strategies of outreach in a Middle Eastern context, to later be able to effectively minister to the Arab Muslim world through a language center and family-based Bible studies. They will be making Beirut, Lebanon their home in March 2011.

The Kopke Family

Ryan and Jordan Kopke

Ryan and Jordan help people celebrate and preserve their languages & cultures, and help translate the Bible into their languages too. Jordan is a literacy specialist (BA, MLE), and Ryan is a translation specialist (BA, MLE). They have moved to Vanuatu, in the South Pacific and are teaching and equipping pastors to translate the Bible into their own languages at VISTA (Vanuatu Institute for Scripture Translation and Application) and doing language development and literacy work.

Constantin (Costia) Lysakov

Costia currently works in Moscow with New Life Bible College, one of the International Leadership Academies of Campus Crusade for Christ. The school is a two year intensive Bible program, with the objective of equipping church leaders in Russia. Costia leads a team of students in campus ministry at the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship (Friendship U). This is one of the top three universities in Russia and one of the few schools which offers education to the future leaders of Africa, Arab world, China and Latin America. Costia feels it is a great honor to have the opportunity to witness there. He seeks to actively share his faith and establish Bible study groups on campus. Costia also teaches periodically throughout the year, with his focus in Philosophy of Religion and Semantics. He also assists curriculum design and organization in order to strengthen the academic program.

The Mills Family

Jason, Amber, Cora and Hannah Mills

Jason was called to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as the San Diego North County Inland Representative in 2007. The FCA Ministries seek to encourage, equip and empower coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of sports to impact their world for Jesus Christ. Jason and Amber, with their two girls, love being a part of this community, calling GVC their church home.

The Nuss Family

Daryl and Donna Nuss

Daryl and Donna Nuss are serving with the National Network of Youth Ministries. As the CEO of the Network, Daryl gives leadership in uniting youth leaders and other Christ followers in communities to share the Gospel and to advance the ministry to every teenager. Presently, there are over 850 youth leader networks across the United States. For more information check out the Network website

Both Daryl and Donna are still affliates with Cru-highschool. Previously, they started Cru's high school ministry in Russia, and for a period of 20 years they took over 1000 adults and students on spring mission trips there.

Daryl and Donna have two grown sons and one grandson.

The Riley Family

Mike and Laurel Riley

Mike and Laurel Riley have been on full-time staff with Cru for over 35 years, mostly with the High School ministry, and more recently with Athletes In Action. They have three married sons and another currently living at home and working nearby. Having worked with high school students for so long they were very excited to be asked to work with AIA to develop the first-ever Ultimate Training Camp for high school students in 2015. They have seen first-hand how impactful it can be for these young athletes. Teaching the 5 Principles to teenagers has the potential to not only bring their involvement in sports to the next level in high school, but also to carry on through college and beyond, as these are actually life principles.

Julia Schatz

Julia serves full time at e3 Partners Ministry as the Middle East Ministry Administrator which is the assistant to the Director of Middle East Ministries for e3 Partners. Julia also serves as a Church Planting Coordinator helping to lead teams to other areas of the world. Julia’s passion is to glorify God and make Him known in all the earth! Julia embraces God’s call on her life to share Christ and God’s plan for salvation with those that do not have the assurance of Heaven and the awesome privilege and joy of having a personal relationship with God.

The Schreiber Family

Robb, Emilie, Evie and Allie Schreiber

Robb and Emilie have served "the furtherest out kid" in Young Life for over 25 years. Emilie serves as the Southwest Divisional Coodinator for YoungLives, Young Life's mission for teenage Mothers. In her role, Emilie directs summer camps for teen moms, starts, trains and supports Young Life areas to reach teen moms all over California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, New Mexico and El Paso, TX. Robb serves as the Young Life Area Director for San Diego North. Young Life introduces adolescents to Jesus Christ and helps them grow in their faith through volunteers at school based ministries. The Schreiber's consider GVC their home church.

The Smedley Family

Don, Sue and Taryn Smedley

The Smedley’s are on staff with the Rivendell Institute which ministers at Yale University, and have been since 1995. Prior to that, Don was a traveling speaker with Campus Crusade for Christ and Sue was a national women’s coordinator with Student Venture for twenty years.

The mission of the Rivendell Institute is to identify the supreme challenges to the Gospel in the academy and society in order to deliver an effectual response. This mission is pursued by:

- engaging these challenges within the university and culture through evangelism, research, publishing and teaching

- equipping present and future generations of Christian leaders, scholars and professional to integrate the Gospel mission with all the aspects of their professional lives.

The Sunde Family

Dave and Sande Sunde

On staff with Cru since 1966, the Sundes presently work in the FamilyLife Global division of Cru. Their assignment was to the Middle East until the Arab Spring of 2011. Since then they have been working in West Africa and francophone Africa. The Ebola epidemic and the Boko Haram in these regions has meant being re-assigned recently to Latin America projects. David and Sande work with volunteers and pastor couples in the cities of this region, seeking to fulfill three objectives: 1) train the couples to build ministries to families in the churches and communities, 2) equip with outreach resources such as The Art of Marriage and the HomeBuilders series, and 3) provide vision and training for larger events such as A Day to Treasure. FamilyLife Global is active in 108 countries as a strategic resource to help fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord.

The Sutherland Family

Jeff, Tiffany, Sadie, Brooks and Lincoln Sutherland

Jeff joined staff with FCA in Portland, Oregon in July of 2015, as the Portland South Area Director. A native of San Diego, he spent four years as an athletic director, as well as 10 years as a volleyball coach, both at the club and high school levels. He has a desire to positively influence coaches to ultimately help reach the young athletes they lead each day. The FCA Ministries seek to encourage, equip and empower coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of sports to impact their world for Jesus Christ.

The Varughese Family

T.V. and Mariam Varughese

Serving Christ in the Great Commission ministry of reaching and discipling the nations through training and equipping national leaders around the world.

Dr. Varughese, who has more than 25 years of experience in international ministry, is founder and president of International Discipleship Ministries that offers evangelism and discipleship training using the MasterDesign for Life courses he developed. His academic career includes theological education at masters level from Trinity Seminary, teaching math and computer science at National University, and teaching apologetics as adjunct faculty of Fuller Theological Seminary. He has one daughter, Susha, and four grand children.
